Hi, I’m Lisa!
I design and facilitate cross-cultural exchange experiences that develop leaders and strengthen rural communities.
Through my research, I explore how cross-cultural exchange fosters learning, innovation, leadership development, and sustainable community impact in global educational and rural entrepreneurial contexts. As a consultant, I apply this knowledge to prepare students to address complex global challenges and to support rural entrepreneurs in creating thriving businesses in the places they love.
I hold a Ph.D. in Leadership with a concentration in Organization Development, a Master’s in Leadership Studies, and a Bachelor’s in Accounting (Summa Cum Laude). I have conducted research throughout the North Atlantic region, with multiple projects in Greenland and Maine, and have published in peer-reviewed journals, held fellowship appointments, and presented at international academic conferences.
My interdisciplinary work is informed by 16+ years in accounting and finance leadership, 12+ years coaching and consulting entrepreneurs and professionals, and extensive experience in nonprofit development, adult education, and workshop facilitation. I am also an Associate Certified Coach (ACC), accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) in 2017.
Here’s a little more about me…
I am…
a farm girl from the Midwestern U.S. who loves the ocean and currently calls the coast of Maine home, a mom, wife, rescue dog lover, and tornado survivor
an explorer at heart with a love for rural, coastal, and island communities, especially the North Atlantic region and Arctic, plus Antarctica
an advocate for mindful consumption and slow fashion, using natural fibers, especially wool
often seeking out sheep farms to visit in faraway places
I love...
facilitating workshops and sharing my research to support leadership and entrepreneurial development
supporting rural entrepreneurs around the world
traveling the world mindfully, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures along the way
and always saying YES to adventure!
